Suggested Experience
Embark on a seven-day sailing adventure onboard the "Bad Captain" from Gulfport, Mississippi, to Panama City Beach, Florida, and back. This journey will take you along the Gulf of Mexico, providing stunning coastal views and opportunities to experience the local culture and marine life.
Day 1: Depart from Gulfport Municipal Harbor and sail towards Mobile Bay. Enjoy the warm sun and sea breeze as you skirt the Gulf Islands National Seashore while navigating the Barges and Fishing Boats on the Mississippi Sound. Spend the night at anchor off Dauphin Island.
Day 2: Depart Dauphin Island, exiting Mobile Bay for the Gulf of Mexico, and head toward Panama City Beach. This is typically an overnight sail; you should expect to arrive in St. Andrew Bay mid-day on Day 3.
Day 3: Arrive in Panama City Beach, setting anchor in St. Andrews Bay after refueling the boat.
Day 4: Spend the day exploring the historic town of Panama City Beach, enjoying fresh seafood and ice-cold beer at Hunt’s Oyster Bar & Seafood.
Day 5: Return to Gulfport by way of the Gulf of Mexico. Again, depending on the weather, this is typically an overnight sail.
Day 6: At this point, you should be crossing the Mobile Bay Shipping Chanel at sunrise, allowing you to hone your skills with Rules of the Road. After navigating Little Dog Keys Pass off the eastern end of Ship Island, you should expect to arrive at the Gulfport Municipal Marina early in the morning hours of Day 7.
Day 7: Arrive back in Gulfport, spending a final night in the Marina before ending your sailing adventure.
