With less than twenty-four hours before departure, we have done just about everything that's to be done to be prepared for this adventure. All that's left is wrapping up the laundry and pouring over the short- and long-term weather forecasts. We expect to cast off close to 1300 UTC.
With winds forecasted to be out of the SSE, we plan to sail to Horn Island, where there's a pleasant little anchorage on the northern side of the island which should provide some level of protection. This approach will allow us to shake out any unforeseen issues and prepare for our first overnight to Panama City Beach, FL.
