Our first overnight sail went off without a hitch. We opted for a 3-Hours On, 3-Hours Off Watch Schedule, which proved to work well for Paolo and his first-ever overnight sail. Traffic was sparse, and with clear skies and a bright moon, we felt at ease.
At daylight, we settled into our routine and once again set out the trolling lines. With less than 5-Knots of wind out of the east, we continued to motor, hoping for an anticipated shift to the south. Unfortunately, unlike yesterday, the Gulf of Mexico produced no fish.
Late afternoon brought a visit from the U.S. Navy as an F 35 Fighter Jet did a "fly-by" off our starboard side, about 100 feet off the deck. By 10:00 p.m. CST, we began preparing for our entry into the Panama City Beach Channel.
